Waititu Thrown Out Of Malindi Polling Station As Mp Arrested Over Bribery Claims


Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu was
thrown out of a polling station in
Malindi during the by-election on
Monday for allegedly forcing his way
into it.
Waititu was taken out of the polling
station after voters protested his
presence at the station.
He was then taken to Malindi Police
station where he wrote a statement.
He was released on a free bond.
Mwea MP Peter Njuguna was
assaulted at Kakiyuni polling station
in the constituency over claims of
voter bribery in the MP by-election.
Njuguna, who was serving as an
observer, was accosted by hooligans
incited by a local woman MP, said
regional police boss Francis Wanjohi.
“The former legislator was not bribing
voters as alleged,” Wanjohi said,
adding a speedy investigation was
Wanjohi wrote a statement at Malindi
police station.
